Overview

The e684 PAPR is an auto-darkening PAPR welding helmet — the e684 prepared for use with respiratory protection. It has an air duct and a face seal, and the incoming air is distributed comfortably inside the helmet. It works with the e3000X blower unit or the suppliedair compressed air system.

Optically it is a full e684: a filter rated 1/1/1/1 to EN 379, ShadeTronic® with automatic shade 5–13, manual ranges of 5–9 and 9–13, and a light state of shade 4. FadeTronic brightens the filter smoothly after welding. Three sensors with a detection-angle slider and stepless sensitivity adjustment with a “Super High” range let you tune the response to your conditions, and the grind mode helps with finishing work.

The helmet weighs 700 g. The patented eccentric mechanism and the comfort headband help you position it precisely and spread the weight to relieve your neck. The filter is powered by solar cells and two replaceable CR2032 batteries. The shell comes in silver or black. A complete system — the silver helmet with the e3000X (ATEX) blower unit — is available as a Ready-to-Weld package, alongside upgrade packages.
