FadeTronic

Gentle opening of the filter after welding

After welding, the filter lightens gradually with an opening delay you set from 0.1 to 2.0 s. Glowing workpieces no longer dazzle you, and your eyes tire less.

optrel e684 — FadeTronic

FadeTronic controls how the auto-darkening filter opens once you stop welding. Instead of switching abruptly to the light state, the filter lightens slowly and in a controlled way — at the pace you choose.

How it works

You set the opening delay steplessly from 0.1 to 2.0 s and match it to the lighting conditions during and after welding. Throughout, UV and IR radiation are blocked by the filter’s passive layers.

When it matters

When welding at high currents, the workpiece keeps glowing after the arc goes out and still emits intense light. If the filter opens too early, this afterglow can dazzle you. A longer delay protects your eyes, reduces eye strain and helps you stay focused throughout the working day.

For spot and tack welding, set the delay to the minimum: the helmet opens quickly and you are ready for the next spot without unnecessary waiting.

FadeTronic is found in the helix, panoramaxx and sphereX series and in e684, crystal2.0 and liteflip autopilot.
