Certified eye and face protection for laser work

Laser protection for the panoramaxx laser series, developed with laservision: certified to EN 207, with an inner frame and filters against laser and arc radiation.

optrel panoramaxx L — Laser protection

Laser light is concentrated energy that melts metal — and it can cause irreparable eye damage, even when reflected. Infrared radiation is invisible, so injuries often go unnoticed. In handheld laser welding, ordinary laser safety goggles are not enough: the thermal process also releases significant UV and IR radiation, and the face remains exposed.

The optrel and laservision solution

Helmets in the panoramaxx laser series have an inner laser protection frame around the eyes that blocks scattered radiation from the side as well, plus special filters and coatings against laser and welding radiation. The laser protection is certified to EN 207, and the helmet shell protects the entire face from infrared radiation. The technology was patented in 2023.

Passive protection — what it means

The laser protection is a coating on the lens: it is always active and needs no power (only the automatic darkening of the LCD filter requires electricity, as in other optrel helmets). Passive protection withstands a direct hit from the beam for at least 5 seconds — so you must notice the hit and stop the process, and the helmet must be replaced immediately after a direct hit.

panoramaxx hybrid and panoramaxx hybrid clt are designed for handheld laser welding and conventional arc welding; panoramaxx L is for laser cleaning, laser cutting and inspection work on laser welding robots. As the laser process also produces harmful fumes and fine dust, pair the helmet with swiss air or e3000X.
