Panorama-XXL field of view

Six times the field of view of a standard filter

A 155 × 55 mm field of view and a patented nose cut-out that brings the filter closer to your eyes. You see more of your surroundings, and the helmet is better balanced.

optrel panoramaxx 2.5 — Panorama-XXL field of view

Panorama-XXL is a field of view 155 mm wide and 55 mm high — around six times larger than a standard 100 × 50 mm auto-darkening filter. You see more of your surroundings without turning your head.

How it is done

The auto-darkening filter has been made significantly wider, using the full width of the helmet. The key, however, is the nose cut-out, patented in 2013 and first introduced on the weldcap: it places the filter closer to your eyes, so the field of view grows and your nose no longer gets in the way. Spectacle-style lenses adapt easily to different face shapes.

What you gain

Wider peripheral vision helps you spot hazards and obstacles earlier, and less head movement means less strain on your neck and back. The centre of gravity moves towards the neck, so the helmet feels less front-heavy and you can wear it longer without fatigue. With the filter positioned above the nose and separated from the mouth area, it is also less prone to fogging.

A large field of view pays off in welding, assembly of large structures and metalworking, and whenever you switch frequently between welding and grinding without wanting to take the helmet off — especially in combination with CLT. The Panorama-XXL field of view is found in the panoramaxx and helix series.
