Overview

The e684 is an auto-darkening welding helmet from the sphere series, made for welders who would rather focus on the weld than on the settings. Its filter is rated 1/1/1/1 to EN 379 — the best score in all four categories — so the view stays sharp and even across the whole lens, including when you look through it at an angle.

ShadeTronic® adjusts the shade automatically to the brightness of the arc, between 5 and 13, while FadeTronic brightens the filter gradually once you stop welding, so there is no abrupt change in light. Prefer to stay in control? Switch to manual mode with ranges of 5–9 and 9–13. In its light state the filter sits at shade 4. Three sensors, a sensor slider for the detection angle and stepless sensitivity adjustment with a “Super High” range let you tune the response to your position and process. A grind mode is on board for finishing work.

The patented eccentric mechanism lets you position the helmet precisely, and the comfort headband spreads its 500 g weight to relieve your neck. The filter runs on solar cells backed by two replaceable CR2032 batteries. Supplied with a user manual, a dust bag and a front cover lens.

The shell comes in silver or black; a dark blue variant and versions with a universal hard hat adapter are also available. For respiratory protection, combine the e684 with a swiss air blower unit in a Ready-to-Weld package; for use with the e3000X, choose the e684 PAPR.
